Ready for Austin: 2023 OL Trevor Goosby
When Texas flipped 6-foot-7, 280-pound offensive tackle Trevor Goosby from TCU, it solidified a stellar offensive line haul in the 2023 cycle and added a large dose of athleticism to a budding O-line room in Austin.

Goosby committed to TCU on April 26th, 2022. Texas had little contact with the On3 Industry Ranking three-star at that stage, and didn’t come through with an offer until June 10th. Texas received an official visit on June 24th, which coincided with Arch Manning‘s commitment the day before. Goosby finished the flip to Texas two days later on June 26th.
Goosby plans on majoring in business after he was admitted to the McCombs School of Business.
“I’m looking forward to it first of all,” Goosby told Inside Texas. “I’ve been talking about this with my friends a lot, about how much my body is going to change once I get here and start the workout system. I’m excited to get here and meet all the guys, and start building relationships.”
The accolades
An All-America and two-time all-district honoree, Goosby was named offensive lineman of the year for District 7-5A. He was selected to participate in the U.S. Army Bowl. Dallas Morning News ranked him as the No. 44 player in the outlet’s top 100 recruits list, and Dave Campbell’s Texas Football called him a top-10 offensive lineman in the state. DCTF also selected him for the 2022 Super Team second team. Goosby competed at the 2023 UIL State track meet in the shot put for Melissa.

The position
What spot is Goosby headed for once he enrolls in Austin in late May?
“For sure tackle,” Goosby said. “I’m not sure about guard or center. I’m still going to learn how to play all of those, but right now they have me at tackle.”
