Texas EDGE Trey Moore was not on a list of underclassmen declarations for the 2025 NFL Draft, per The Athletic’s Dane Brugler. That means Moore is slated to return to Texas for the 2025 season, a year that will be his second with the Texas football program.

Previously known early-entrants Kelvin Banks, Jaydon Blue, Isaiah Bond, Quinn Ewers, Matthew Golden, and Cameron Williams were on the list.

Moore notched 36 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks in 16 games for the Longhorns in 2024. He was one of PFF’s 10 highest-graded defensive players on the Longhorns from the 2024 season. He also netted two fumble recoveries and forced three fumbles, once again playing well at a newfound level of competition.

Moore, a 6-foot-3, 245-pounder from Spring Branch (Texas) Smithson Valley, arrived at Texas after three years at UTSA. Following a redshirt season in 2021, Moore put together a stellar year in 2022. He recorded 18 tackles for loss, and 8.0 sacks during a campaign where he was named to Conference-USA’s freshman all-conference team. When UTSA jumped up to the American Athletic Conference in 2023, so did Moore’s play. He earned defensive player of the year honors for a season where he had 14 sacks and 45 total tackles. Moore entered the portal following that year, and chose Texas over Ohio State and Alabama.

He will return to a Longhorn EDGE room overseen by Pete Kwiatkowski that includes Colin Simmons, Ethan Burke, Colton Vasek, and several talented underclassmen looking for new opportunity.
