Report: Ulric Maligi returning to Texas for a role on Sean Miller's staff
Ulric Maligi, an assistant on Jerome Tang‘s Kansas State staff who was previously with the Longhorns, is returning to Texas for a role on Sean Miller‘s staff per On3’s Kansas State affiliate K-State Online. Maligi, who was associate head coach in Manhattan for Tang, has previous stops at Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, SMU, Houston, Stephen F. Austin, and UT-Arlington.

Maligi first came to Texas from Texas Tech when Chris Beard was hired in 2021. Along with his on-court contributions, Maligi may be best known for when he parachuted out of a plane in celebration of earning a commitment from Dillon Mitchell.
Maligi graduated from Howard in 2006. According to his Kansas State bio, Maligi has coached and/or recruited 27 NBA players in his coaching career, including Keyonate Johnson, Mac McClung, Kevin McCullar Jr., Shake Milton, Terrence Shannon Jr., Jaylon Tyson, and Robert Williams III.

Maligi will join a coaching crew that features several members of Miller’s Xavier staff including Adam Cohen, David Miller, and Ryan Anderson. Miller is also retaining general manager Chris Ogden and plans to bring Ryan Reynolds as his director of basketball operations.
