Make it a Texas two step! Minutes after Desoto (Texas) running back Tre Wisner joined Texas’ 2023 class, Aldine (Texas) Eisenhower wide receiver Ryan Niblett decided to do the same.

Niblett, a 6-foot-0, 170-pound wide receiver, chose the Longhorns over Alabama, Houston, USC, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Penn State, LSU, Baylor, and others.

Niblett was named the District 14-6A All-Purpose Player of the Year as a junior after scoring 19 touchdowns, including making plays on both sides of the ball and in the return game.

He is ranked as the No. 93 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The Consensus also ranks him as the No. 14 wide receiver and the No. 17 player in the state of Texas.

On3’s internal rankings have Niblett as the No. 82 overall prospect and No. 13 wide receiver. He is ranked as the No. 15 prospect in the Lone Star State.

“The entire recruiting process has been a journey,” Niblett wrote in his commitment post. “I’m extremely thankful to have been given multiple opportunities to play the game that I love at the next level. I’d like to thank every coach who sat down and assessed my talent and hard work. I’d like to thank my family for investing their time and energy to help me get to the places I desired to be.”

“I’d also like to thank every coach at Eisenhower High School. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve any of this without y’all.”

“With that being said, I’m beyond blessed to announce my commitment to (the) University of Texas.”

Niblett is the fifth member of Texas’ 2023 class along with Dylan Spencer, Jamel Johnson, Tre Wisner, and S’Majre Burrell. The Longhorns’ class currently ranks eighth in the country and first in the Big 12.
