The Texas Longhorns No. 5 ranked class in 2022 is producing in season two in Austin.

The class that was made up of 28 signees from the states of Texas, California, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arizona and Washington saw six players start games as true freshmen. And seven more played more than four games to be classified as a sophomore’s headed into the 2023 season.

Now with one and a half seasons in the rearview mirror, the class is on track to likely meet expectations in the next couple of seasons.

Inside Texas takes a look at where the 2022 class sits at the mid-way point of the 2023 season.

Starters

Kelvin Banks, LT, 6-4, 324 – Sophomore

Has started all 19 games since enrolling at Texas. Likely NFL first round pick following the 2024 season.

DJ Campbell, RG, 6-3, 343 – Sophomore

The former 5-star recruit has started all six games as a sophomore. On track to be a future NFL draft pick.

Ethan Burke, EDGE, 6-6, 257 – Sophomore

The former 4-star recruit has posted 18 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks through six games.

Terrance Brooks, CB, 6-0, 200 – Sophomore

Brooks has posted six tackles and four pass break ups in 2023. Has the look of a future NFL draft pick.

Will Stone, K, 6-0, 194 – Sophomore

Handling kick off duties again as a sophomore. Has posted 41 kick offs with 25 touchbacks.

Lance St. Louis, LS, 6-0, 219 – Sophomore

Handling long snapping duties again as a sophomore.

Second Team

Maalik Murphy, QB, 6-5, 238 – Redshirt freshman

Completed 3 of 6 passes for 40 yards in late game duty.

Cole Hutson, G/C, 6-5, 318 – Sophomore

Started all 13 games as a true freshman. Was playing starter snaps prior to an injury against Wyoming.

Cameron Williams, RT/LT, 6-5, 369 – Sophomore

The back up left and right tackle. Texas staff loves his upside, especially in the run game.

Neto Umeozulu, LG, 6-4, 311 – Redshirt freshman

Run game difference maker that continues to develop in pass protection and technique overall.

Malik Agbo, G/T/TE, 6-4, 294 – Redshirt freshman

Emerged as a go to player as a jumbo blocking tight end in the Texas run game. Has the quickest feet of any lineman in the program.

Justice Finkley, EDGE, 6-2, 250 – Sophomore

Has posted three tackles and a sack in a back up role in year two.

Jaylon Guilbeau, Star, 6-0, 180 – Sophomore

Has returned from a knee injury that sideline the Golden Triangle product for some of the 2022 season, and entire spring. Has posted two tackles and one tackle for loss.

Depth

Jaydon Blue, RB, 6-0, 191 – Sophomore

Blue has rushed 23 times for 112 yards, and caught one pass for seven yards.

Savion Red, RB, 5-10, 214 – Sophomore

Red has rushed seven times for 23 yards, completed one pass for 25 yards and one kick off return for eight yards.

Connor Robertson, C, 6-4, 319 – Redshirt freshman

Saw first meaningful game action against Oklahoma after Jake Majors went down with an ankle injury.

Jaray Bledsoe, DL, 6-4, 274 – Redshirt freshman

Will go from flash player to key role player in 2024. Has posted one tackle and one quarterback hurry this season.

Aaron Bryant, DL, 6-2, 301 – Redshirt freshman

Credited with one tackle.

Zac Swanson, DL, 6-4, 270 – Redshirt freshman

J’mond Tapp, EDGE, 6-3, 266 – Redshirt freshman

Starting to show upside potential. Has posted four tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss this season.

Kris Ross, EDGE, 6-2, 255 – Redshirt freshman

Second team prior to an elbow injury against Wyoming. Had one tackle, one tackle for loss and one quarterback hurry prior to injury.

B.J. Allen Jr., S, 6-1, 205 – Redshirt freshman

Larry Turner-Gooden, S, 6-0, 204 – Redshirt freshman

Austin Jordan, Star/CB, 6-0, 198 – Sophomore

Had an interception against Rice.

Xavion Brice, CB, 6-1, 183 – Redshirt freshman
