Saturday marks a busy day for Texas Longhorns sports
There are storylines to follow in each of the three biggest Texas Longhorns men’s sports on Saturday. Football, men’s basketball, and baseball all have something going on that’s worth monitoring during the first weekend of February.

Christian Jones, T’Vondre Sweat at the Reese’s Senior Bowl
Though it’s the offseason for Steve Sarkisian‘s football team, two standout members from the 2023 Longhorns that went 12-2, won the Big 12 Championship, and fell just short versus Washington in the College Football Playoff have made the most of their opportunities at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. Both offensive lineman Christian Jones and defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat are set to compete in the Reese’s Senior Bowl on Saturday afternoon.
Sweat and Jones have made a number of athletic plays all week and drawn high praise from the draft prognosticators in Mobile. The game is at noon and will air on NFL Network.
Texas men’s basketball on the road in Fort Worth
Rodney Terry and the Longhorns (14-7, 3-5 Big 12) head to Fort Worth to face No. 25 TCU at Schollmaier Arena. The game tips off at 1 p.m. and is on ESPN2.
This contest will be the fifth of likely six straight games against ranked opponents. So far, Texas is 2-2 in those contests with wins over then-No. 9 Baylor in Austin and then-No. 11 Oklahoma in Norman. The Longhorns dropped a game to then-No. 21 BYU in Provo before falling just short at home in overtime versus No. 4 Houston.

Baseball hosts the annual alumni game
One of the biggest signs that Texas baseball season is just around the corner is when scores of former Longhorn standouts return to UFCU Disch-Falk Field for the annual alumni game.
This is also fan appreciation day. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Longhorn Network will air the action.
Plenty going on
The three men’s major sports will take center stage, but a lot of Longhorn athletic programs are in action on Saturday.
