Saturday will be Texas' first ever matchup with Clemson, but who else have the Longhorns not faced?
There are a lot of firsts happening for Texas football this season. First year in the Southeastern Conference. First trip to the SEC Championship game. First appearance in the 12-team College Football Playoff.

And now, the program’s first-ever matchup with Clemson.
“The fact that we’ve never played them, that Texas has never played Clemson in football, and the first time will be in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff right here at DKR I think is very exciting,” Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said December 8.
Texas started playing football in 1893, officially, and are 959-394-33 all time. Clemson’s first year was in 1896, and the Tigers are 808-475-45. The Longhorns have faced interesting teams like Randolph Field, the Austin YMCA, Dallas University, Daniel Baker, Haskell, the Houston Town Team, and even St. Edwards. Similar can likely be said for Clemson, assuredly.
The Tigers will leave the company of the over 40 FBS teams that have never faced the Longhorns.
