SEC Power Rankings: A whole lot of 6-1 teams
Only two teams in the SEC, the Texas A&M Aggies and the LSU Tigers, are undefeated in SEC play. However, those two programs are part of a group of six in the league that are 6-1 overall and have just one conference loss.

The top of the SEC has a lot of great teams, but is there a transcendent team? Not quite yet.
1. Georgia
Georgia notched what’s likely the best win of the season so far in Austin on Saturday thanks to the bumbling effort of the Longhorn offense caused by Kirby Smart‘s defense. Even when Carson Beck isn’t on, there’s enough talent in stacked classes to help overcome the problems. Plus, picking up Trevor Etienne from your rival always is a plus.
T-2 Texas
T-2 Tennessee
Both UT’s can now say they won a significant matchup against their crimson rival. These two teams are also behind Georgia in the most recent AP poll. The Longhorns fell from the top spot but not too far, while Tennessee moved up one place thanks to a win on the Third Saturday in October. These teams won’t play each other, but are built somewhat similarly.
T-4 LSU
T-4 Texas A&M
These two teams are set to play each other and are the only two teams left in the league without a conference loss. Texas A&M is 4-0 in SEC play while LSU is 3-0. Both boast 6-1 records. The two will square off in College Station on Saturday night at Kyle Field.
6. Alabama
There’s a lot of Bama talent in Tuscaloosa, but the Bama standard is a lot different these days and Kalen DeBoer hasn’t quite figured it out. Tennessee did what was needed to win and Alabama may already be out of the conference title race.

7. Ole Miss
On bye, and in a weird spot at 1-2 in conference play. They host Oklahoma, travel to Arkansas, host Georgia, go to Florida, then host Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl to close things out.
8. Vanderbilt
Ranked! 5-2! Hosts of a top-25 matchup this weekend and on a three-game winning streak. Texas won’t be overestimating the Commodores ahead of a trip to Nashville this week, or at least the Longhorns shouldn’t.
9. Missouri
They are 6-1 and 2-1 in conference but there isn’t a lot about them that says “impressive playoff contender,” especially not a one possession win over Auburn at home. At Alabama, vs. Oklahoma, at South Carolina will be a solid three-game test.

10. South Carolina
The close losses to LSU and Alabama hurt because their trip home includes four ranked teams along with the Wofford Terriers.
