Sir'Jabari Rice named Big 12 newcomer of the week
Texas guard Sir’Jabari Rice‘s 21 points on Monday in a win over Baylor and double-double on Saturday in a comeback victory at Kansas State earned the super-senior Big 12 newcomer of the week honors, the conference announced Monday.

It’s the second weekly award for Rice this season. He received newcomer of the week honors on January 16.
Rice scored a season-high 21 points versus the Bears, hitting 5-of-7 shots from the field and 7-of-8 at the free throw line. On Saturday versus K-State, he turned in the fifth double-double of his career and first as a member of the Longhorns. Rice scored 14 points, including two game-sealing free throws in the final seconds, and pulled down 10 rebounds.
