The Texas 2024 schedule, which is yet to be officially released, could also feature road games at Texas A&M and Arkansas. The annual game with the Oklahoma Sooners will be played as a neutral site game in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
On June 1, the SEC announced plans to establish a scheduling format for the 2024 football season while it continues to finalize a long-term strategy as a 16-team conference.
The SEC plans to eliminate division standings beginning in 2024 as well, with the SEC Championship Game featuring the two top teams in the conference standings at the end of the regular season.
“We have been engaged in planning for the entry of Oklahoma and Texas into the SEC since the summer of 2021, but the change of the membership date from 2025 to 2024 creates scheduling complexities that can better be managed with a one-year schedule,” SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said in Sandestin June 1.

“Creating a one-year schedule will provide a longer on-ramp to manage football scheduling around existing non-conference commitments of our members,” Sankey said. “It will also provide additional time to understand the impact of an expanded College Football Playoff and engage with our media partners as we determine the appropriate long-term plan for SEC football scheduling.”

Texas and Georgia have played five times, with the Longhorns leading the series 4-1. Texas won the last matchup between the two schools in 2019, when the Sam Ehlinger-led Longhorns defeated Jake Fromm and the Bulldogs 28-21 in the Sugar Bowl following the 2018 season.
The full list of Texas conference opponents in 2024 will be revealed Wednesday night at 6 p.m. on SEC Network.
