In this episode, Bobby and Eric discuss…

Eric mentions that the team is in 7-on-7 during the morning then working out later in the day, with extra effort spent by the strength and conditioning staff to put players in position to make decisions while exhausted. Of course, heat acclimation is also a part of the equation. In 7-on-7, Xavier Worthy, AD Mitchell, Ryan Niblett, Derek Williams have stood out early.

The two then go into detail about Eric’s RPM pick in favor of Texas for Colin Simmons with an 80 percent confidence level. Eric’s high confidence is in the timeline potentially moving up and Simmons deciding this summer. He said he would keep it there either way if Simmons’ recruitment carried over to the fall.

The Longhorns have eight commitments and two are on the O-line in Nate Kibble and Daniel Cruz, and almost 10 players are expected to announce in the upcoming 10 days. “They’re going to win more than they lose, but there’s always a potential to lose one or two that could hurt,” Nahlin said.

D-tackle recruiting is a need, and those recruitments are, as Bobby explains, highly contested. Texas should get their share of wins, but Eric explains there are some factors that go into those recruitments considering the geography and the teams involved.

Quarterbacks Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning went to the Manning Passing Academy. Both have had good performances in Austin, but there’s no pass rush to affect how they do in the setting. The work is for getting in-tune with receivers, Eric explains, who hasn’t heard any updates on Ewers’ footwork.

Ewers, Jordan Whittington, Xavier Worthy, Jaylan Ford, and Jahdae Barron are heading to Big 12 Media Days, and that leads to an outlook from the two on the rest of the Big 12 in Texas’ last season in the league. How will Texas be sent off? There’s no way to tell considering the wide range of opinions.

The two move on with a discussion on NIL, including a look at the NCAA’s efforts Bobby describes as feckless. What’s next for the organization? It might become a state vs. state battle.

The two conclude with a discussion of Daniel Cruz, who just committed to the Longhorns on Wednesday night. Steve Sarkisian and Kyle Flood prioritized him, and Eric believes Cruz will be a successful center.
