“DJ Campbell will not play Saturday. Jalen Catalon will not play Saturday. Those are probably the two off the top of my head I can tell you for certain will not play Saturday.”
Sarkisian was then asked about running back, considering the limited status in the spring of Jonathon Brooks and Keilan Robinson.
“To some degree, they’ll all get some opportunities,” Sarkisian said. “Keilan would probably be the one that won’t be able to go.”
Robinson was limited throughout the spring due to what Sarkisian described as a strain. Catalon was seen during the first few non-padded practices of spring football, but had an additional procedure during spring. The operation was most likely on his shoulder, which he injured at Arkansas.

“Catalon, we had to go in and clean a few things up,” Sarkisian said on March 21. “He’ll be limited for now. He’s an experienced player. That one doesn’t concern me. I didn’t want that to linger come the fall. We wanted to make sure we took care of a few things for him getting ready for the season.”
Sarkisian did not give a reasoning behind Campbell’s status.
Robinson, a 5-foot-9, 183-pounder who transferred from Alabama prior to the 2021 season, logged 45 touches from scrimmage for 305 yards and three touchdowns last season. He also had 16 kick returns for 403 total yards. In addition, he scored a touchdown off of a blocked punt.
Catalon, a 5-foot-10, 200-pound transfer from Arkansas, played in 21 games with 16 starts for the Razorbacks. A product of Mansfield (Texas) Legacy, was a first-team All-SEC selection in 2020.
Campbell, a 6-foot-3, 332-pound interior offensive lineman from Arlington (Texas) Bowie, played in seven games last season.
