Steve Sarkisian officially announces the hires of Chad Scott and Mark Orphey, plus other promotions and additions

Several hires and promotions made by the Texas Longhorns football program were announced by Steve Sarkisian as official Thursday afternoon.

Terry Joseph retained his defensive passing game coordinator and secondary coach titles, and added the title of safeties coach. Blake Gideon had previously served as safeties coach before taking the defensive coordinator job at Georgia Tech.
The hire of Mark Orphey from Rutgers was announced. Some background on his developmental ability can be found here, as can more background on Orphey here. He is the corners coach.
As Inside Texas reported on Wednesday, Chad Scott has been named the new running backs coach. He replaces Tashard Choice. Scott has almost two decades of experience coaching the position. Insight on Scott can be found here and here.
Mike Bimonte, a former Rutgers quarterback who has had the title of senior football analyst, received the co-passing game coordinator and assistant quarterbacks coach.
Keynodo Hudson, who previously was an analyst coaching defense, replaced Scottie Hazelton as nickels coach. He was at Ole Miss as corners coach prior to his time in Austin.
Director of high school relations Jahmal Fenner was given the new title of director of player development. He retained his high school relations role.

Josh Dunson, who the Longhorns hired away from his previous post as Memphis’ director of recruiting, was named a senior player personnel coordinator for the Longhorns.
The Longhorns hired LaAllen Clark away from a grad assistant role at Ohio State. At Texas, Clark has the title of EDGE coach.
Former Georgia Tech director of player personnel Errin Joe has joined the Longhorns’ staff as director of scouting. More details on Joe can be found here.
Previous recruiting coordinator Jordan Mitchell was given a new title of recruiting and retention strategy coordinator.
