Steve Sarkisian provides injury updates for Xavier Worthy, DJ Campbell, Ja'Tavion Sanders
Texas star wide receiver Xavier Worthy exited the game in the late stages of the Longhorns’ 26-16 win over Iowa State in Ames. Head coach Steve Sarkisian said Saturday he did not think the injury was serious. He updated Worthy’s status on Monday during his weekly press conference, saying he expects Worthy, DJ Campbell, and Ja’Tavion Sanders to play Saturday.

“I feel pretty good on a Monday,” Sarkisian said. “That was a physical game Saturday night. We had a variety of guys that went down. I don’t foresee any of those guys being out Friday. We need to monitor that as the week goes, but I do feel confident enough today that everyone who was available Saturday night will be available Friday night.”
Worthy, one of the best receivers in the nation and a player steadily moving up the Texas record books, exited after hauling in four receptions for 77 yards. He also had one rush for 16 yards that ended with a fumble recovered by the Cyclones.
Worthy has caught at least one pass every one of his 36 career games in a Longhorn uniform. This season, he has 63 catches for 834 yards and four touchdowns. He’s also been the Longhorns primary punt returner, averaging 18.2 yards on his 17 returns. He’s returned one punt for a touchdown, and had another overturned in Jack Trice Stadium due to a block-in-the-back penalty.
