Strong talks injuries, Miami
Without being disrespectful to the staff at Texas, the presser that was called was generally stuff that could have been, and usually is, put out in an email.
We got stuff like…
Charlie Strong – “The players have the right attitude. We’ll give them Friday off and come back to work on Saturday.”
Charlie Strong – “It’s always a sense of urgency. I’m frustrated sure but those young men are just as frustrated.”

The pertinent information was about the status of D’Onta Foreman having finger surgery tomorrow and J. Gray being day to day…
Charlie Strong – “D. Foreman is having surgery on his finger tomorrow and we’ll know more about his availability for Texas Tech after that.”

The the question of Miami (FL) was raised. At some point, the fact that I think he would be crazy to take the Miami (FL) job unless he knows for a fact that he was done after 2016. Here were his answers when asked about the gig in South Florida…

Charlie Strong on Miami – “I have an unbelievable job and I have to be successful here. I have so much support from my President and AD.”
Charlie Strong on constant Miami noise – “Yes it’s frustrating. I have no idea where it comes from but I can’t listen to the noise.”
Based off of those two quotes, I have received responses all the way from, “He’s gone” to “That’s not a denial”. I think he answered the questions in the only way he can. If he even acknowledges the job, that it’s open and that he might be a candidate (even if just from UM’s perspective) it would be horrible for his current team that has two very losable games left on the schedule. The only thing he should do is talk about Texas and the tremendous opportunity.
I try to keep an open mind to the fact that there is a lot of information and perspectives that I don’t know but I, for the life of me, cannot imagine Charlie Strong leaving for Miami or Virginia Tech as one article read may be a target.
