Texas announces its 2025 SEC baseball schedule

The first season for Texas baseball both in the SEC and under new head coach Jim Schlossnagle will see his former Texas A&M program head to Austin as part of a 30-game conference schedule, Texas announced on Thursday.

The Longhorns will host LSU, Georgia, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Florida and will travel to Mississippi State, Missouri, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

The SEC Tournament is scheduled for May 20-25 at Hoover Met in Hoover, Ala.

SEC teams will play a three-game series against two permanent opponents and eight rotating opponents for a total of 30 conference games. Standings will be kept in a single-division format, per release.

Eleven SEC teams were included in the 2024 NCAA Tournament and four programs from the conference made the College World Series. Tennessee won the national championship, the fifth consecutive claimed by the SEC.

The Longhorns are set to take part in the Shriners Children’s College Showdown at Globe Life Field in Arlington from February 14-16. Texas will battle Louisville on February 14, 2025 at 7 p.m. They’ll turn around and face Ole Miss at 7 p.m. on Saturday in a battle between SEC foes that won’t count in the conference standings. They’ll conclude Saturday at 6:30 p.m. against former Big 12 rival Oklahoma State.

The Longhorns will also take part in the Las Vegas College Baseball Classic from February 28-March 2. Matchups and times have not yet been announced, but Texas Tech, Washington, and Illinois are set to take part in the event.

Texas hired Texas A&M’s Jim Schlossnagle on June 25 after the Aggies ran all the way to the Men’s College World Series finals.
