Texas announces program players of the game for the win at Vanderbilt

Texas announced Monday its internal players of the game from the Longhorns’ 27-24 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Quinn Ewers and DeAndre Moore earned offensive player of the game honors. Moore also earned special teams player of the game honors and was joined by Bert Auburn. Michael Taaffe was the lone defensive player of the game.

Ewers was 27-for-37 for 288 yards and three touchdowns plus two interceptions. He found Moore for six of those completions for 97 yards and two scores. Moore also made a critical special teams play in the second quarter, downing a Michael Kern punt at the Vanderbilt one yard line. Texas forced a three-and-out and scored a touchdown on the ensuing possession.

Taaffe notched six tackles, an interception, a pass breakup, and a forced fumble.

Auburn was 2-for-2 on field goals with a long of 40 and made all three of his extra points.
