Quinn Ewers and Gunnar Helm earned offensive player of the week honors. Andrew Mukuba and Vernon Broughton were named the defensive players of the week. Liona Lefau earned special teams player of the week accolades.

Ewers had another high quality performance in the home of a top-10 team. He was 24-for-36 for 246 yards and three touchdowns. In addition to these internal honors, Ewers was named the Reese’s Senior Bowl offensive player of the week.

Helm was the Longhorns’ leading receiver on Saturday catching seven passes for 98 yards, both career bests. He hauled in the first touchdown of the day in the first quarter on a 21-yard toss from Ewers to make it 7-0 Longhorns. This is his second straight week to earn this honor.

Mukuba came off the bench to make impacts in multiple ways. He tallied four tackles and an interception, plus two pass breakups. Though replaced by Derek Williams in the starting lineup against the Wolverines, Mukuba made the most of his opportunities. He earned an 82.4 Pro Football Focus grade, second only to Colin Simmons on Saturday.

Broughton was a beast in the middle posting three tackles and limiting the Michigan rushing offense. He was given a Pro Football Focus defensive grade of 73.8.
