Texas Basketball Target Aaliyah Chavez Sets Commitment Date
Aaliyah Chavez, the number one overall recruit for the 2025 class, has set her commitment date for March 25. Chavez, an elite scoring guard from Lubbock, Texas, has narrowed her choice down to Texas, Texas Tech, South Carolina, Oklahoma, and UCLA, although there are rumors UCLA is no longer in contention for her commitment.
Currently, Chavez has put her team, Lubbock Monterey, in the state title game with an incredible season, averaging over 35 ppg and scoring over 1,400 total points. She will also be a participant in the McDonald’s All-American Game later this year and most likely be a finalist for prestigious awards such as the Texas Gatorade Player of the Year.
