The team has been on a difficult run, losing multiple key games against Arkansas and Georgia but defeating Mississippi State, their NCAA tournament hopes still in jeopardy.
Tre Johnson scored 39 points against Arkansas, nearly half of Texas’ total points. His offensive talent is evident, but the team failed to capitalize on his momentum.
Other key players failed to step up, shooting poorly from three-point range. The team combined for only 2-for-15 from deep outside of Johnson.
Despite out-rebounding Arkansas and showcasing strong defensive play, Texas could not secure a win in overtime.
A disastrous home loss where Texas played with little energy, lost the rebounding battle, and allowed Georgia’s Silas Demary to dominate.
Lazy rotations, late defensive recoveries, and foul trouble plagued Texas, making it difficult for them to compete effectively.
