Texas boasts the No. 3 2026 class early following Zelus Hicks' commitment
It takes three commitments to be ranked in the On3 Industry Team Rankings. With the addition of Zelus Hicks to Dia Bell and Chris Stewart in the 2026 class, On3’s algorithm can now figure out where to rank the Longhorns’ committed junior trio.

With a long way to go before these prospects and more put pen to paper, Texas debuted at No. 3 in the On3 Industry Ranking Team Rankings. The Longhorns are the only team in the top five with fewer than five commits.
Oregon is No. 1 in the rankings with five commits. Penn State is just behind at No. 2 with six commits.
Behind Texas, Auburn is No. 4 with six commits. Florida State rounds out the top five with six commits. Other SEC teams in the early rankings include No. 6 Georgia, No. 8 Oklahoma, No. 9 LSU, No. 10 Florida, No. 12 Arkansas, No. 13 South Carolina, and No. 17 Mississippi State.
Tennessee and Texas A&M have two commits apiece. Alabama has just a single 2026 commit.
Three highly ranked prospects help the Longhorns.
Bell is ranked as the No. 17 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking while On3 ranks him as the No. 14 overall prospect.

Hicks is the No. 33 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking. On3 ranks Hicks as the No. 24 prospect.
Stewart is the No. 203 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking. On3’s ranking is an outlier compared to the rest of the industry, placing him at No. 129 overall.
There will be more twists and turns, decommitments and commitments, and everything else that coincides with a recruiting class in the coming year-plus.
