After a 2-2 week that featured a home series loss to Florida that necessitated a team meeting for the Longhorns, Texas dropped from No. 1 to No. 3 in the latest D1Baseball top 25.

Texas lost on Sunday to drop the series to the Gators. Florida took game one on Friday with an 8-2 win. The Longhorns tallied 16 strikeouts and left 10 men on base. The Horns bounced back on Saturday with a 5-2 victory, with all the runs coming in the Texas sixth. Solo home runs from Rylan Galvan and Jalin Flores preceded Jonah Williams’ bases clearing double that put the game at its final tally.

Texas then dropped the series finale 4-1. The Longhorns amassed just four hits and scored their only run of the game on a bases loaded walk to Adrian Rodriguez in the eighth inning. Texas struck out 13 times and left 10 on base.

The Longhorns travel to Oklahoma to face the Sooners to end the 2025 regular season. Texas holds a two game lead over the Arkansas Razorbacks for the SEC regular season title. Arkansas hosts Tennessee this weekend in a series with major implications for all involved.

Other SEC teams in the rankings included No. 1 LSU, No. 6 Auburn, No. 8 Arkansas, No. 9 Vanderbilt, No. 10 Georgia, No. 17 Tennessee, No. 18 Alabama, and No. 23 Florida. Oklahoma and Ole Miss dropped out of the top 25. Teams from Texas’ schedule in the ranking included No. 21 Louisville.
