After a brutal 29-21 loss to the Florida Gators on Saturday, the Texas Longhorns drop out of the AP Poll ahead of Week 7. It’s the first time Texas has been unranked since 2022, when the Longhorns peaked at No. 18 and spent much of the season unranked.

Ohio State remained No. 1 with 40 first-place votes, Miami jumped to No. 2 with 21 first-place votes and Oregon remains in the top three with five first-place votes.

Week 7 brings on a new challenge for the Longhorns, who will have to travel to Dallas for the Red River Rivalry against No. 6 Oklahoma. The Sooners handled a lowly Kent State team yesterday, but will likely be without star quarterback John Mateer on Saturday.

Georgia and Texas A&M also find themselves in the top 10, with the Bulldogs jumping two spots to No. 10. Texas A&M now sits at No. 5 after a win against Mississippi State, leapfrogging Oklahoma.

The Top 25 includes several other SEC teams, including a run of No. 4 Ole Miss, No. 8 Alabama, No. 11 LSU, No. 12 Tennessee, No. 14 Missouri and No. 20 Vanderbilt.

Penn State also joined Texas as a formerly top-two team who fell out of the top 25 this week after a loss to UCLA.

Texas was ranked as the No. 19 team in the coaches poll, 12 spots behind last week’s
