No. 55 – Not issued
No. 55 was last worn by walk-on linebacker Winston Smith in 2023.
No. 54 – Cole Hutson, JR
Cole Hutson has been within Kyle Flood‘s circle of trust ever since he stepped on campus. Hutson started 13 games his freshman year in 2022 at right guard and battled DJ Campbell for the spot in the early part of the 2023 season. Some of the biggest moments of the Alabama game had Hutson making key blocks in Tuscaloosa. An injury suffered versus Wyoming cost him opportunity but did not knock him out of the circle of trust.
Can Hutson move back into the starting lineup? Doing so will be tough. He could factor at left guard but unseating Hayden Conner or Neto Umeozulu will be difficult. So too will moving Campbell from right guard to the bench. Huston is likely O-lineman No. 6 for Texas and should anything happen to a starter along the interior, including center Jake Majors, Hutson should be the first to hear his name called.
No. 53 – Aaron Bryant, SO
Bryant isn’t green behind the ears as he’s played in nine games, including seven in 2023. However, the Longhorns felt the need to head to the portal even with the sophomore from Southaven, Miss. waiting in the wings. That was more an indictment of the depth chart, and the lack of names on it, than of Bryant. Reports on the third-year 6-foot-2, 307-pounder have been positive, and those positive reports will need to continue to roll in for Bryant to be a factor along with Alfred Collins, Vernon Broughton, and the transfer portal additions at defensive tackle.
No. 52 – Tate Haver, SO
Haver, the son of Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead, did not see action in 2023. He’s likely the backup to Lance St. Louis at the deep snapper position.
No. 52 – DJ Campbell, JR
The highest ranked member of the 2022 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking, Campbell was third to the field behind Hutson and Kelvin Banks. He lacked the consistency the coaches wanted out of him early in the 2022 season, but he made marked improvements as the year went on and Flood started having Hutson and Campbell trade series. That continued early into 2023, but Hutson’s injury and Campbell’s own quality play has the Arlington (Texas) Bowie product essentially locked into the starting lineup.

Most of the “three-and-out” talk surrounding Longhorn O-linemen has focused on Banks. Campbell could be a dark horse to find himself in the 2025 NFL Draft.
No. 51 – Marshall Landwehr, SR
Landwehr, a senior from Highland Park, played versus BYU and Texas Tech last year. He’s part of the scout team efforts on a weekly basis.
No. 51 – Daniel Cruz, FR
When Majors, Conner, and Hutson move on, Cruz will compete with Connor Robertson to be the next center at Texas. This year, he’ll earn valuable reps against defensive tackles like Collins, Broughton, Jermayne Lole, and Bill Norton as a member of the scout team.

No. 50 – Michael Flanagan, JR
Flanagan has yet to play in his Texas career. He’s a 6-foot-2, 231-pound linebacker from Frisco (Texas) Wakeland.
