Texas is a betting underdog for the 2025 season opener versus Ohio State

Can the 2025 season get here already? To help count down the days, FanDuel has already released some point spreads for a select few games on the 2025 schedule, including Texas’ week one matchup with Ohio State.

The Longhorns are a 3.5 point underdog for their trip to Columbus to face the national champions. Texas +3.5 is juiced at -118. The Longhorns carry +122 odds on the moneyline. The over/under is at 51.5.

Ohio State -3.5 is juiced to -104. On the moneyline, the Buckeyes are -146. The over/under is -110 either direction.

Texas’ season ended at the hands of the Buckeyes in the College Football Semifinal at the Cotton Bowl Classic. Ohio State defeated the Longhorns, 28-14, on its way to a national title win over Notre Dame.

In Texas’ most recent battle with a Big 10 team coming off a national championship, the Longhorns were 6.5 point favorites ahead of the 2024 week two matchup at Michigan. Texas defeated the Wolverines, 31-12. Quinn Ewers was 24-for-36 for 246 yards and three touchdowns, while the Texas defense held Michigan to under 300 total yards and forced three turnovers.

Other games with points spreads on FanDuel include Iowa State vs. Kansas State in Ireland on August 23. KSU was a 3.5 point favorite and the over/under was set at 49.5.

Auburn’s August 23 battle with Baylor has the Tigers as a 1.5 point favorite in Waco. The over/under is at 56.5.

In a battle of Tigers, LSU heads to Clemson in a week one battle. Clemson is favored by 2.5 points. The over/under is 56.5.

Syracuse and Tennessee are set to match up on August 30 in a showdown between bright shades of orange. The Volunteers are 14.5 point favorites with a over/under of 56.5.

Georgia Tech travels to Colorado to face off with Deion Sanders‘ Buffaloes. New Yellow Jacket defensive coordinator Blake Gideon will be in tow for GT, and they’ll arrive in Boulder as 4.5 point favorites.

Alabama travels to Florida State for a week one matchup with the Seminoles. The Crimson Tide are currently 8.5 point favorites with the over/under at 51.5.

South Carolina and Virginia Tech are scheduled to play each other at Mercedes-Benz Stadium to open their respective seasons. The Gamecocks are 9.5 point favorites with the over/under at 46.5.

Notre Dame and Miami will battle on Sunday, August 31. The Fighting Irish are 2.5 point favorites with the total set at 53.5.

The Bill Belichick era at North Carolina opens with a Sunday night game versus TCU in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels are 2.5 point favorites and the totals is set at 57.5.

Finally, odds for the Ohio State at Michigan game were released. The Buckeyes are 5.5 point favorites and the total is set at 47.5 as Ryan Day seeks to avoid a five-game losing streak versus the Wolverines.
