Texas needed a fourth quarterback on its roster for 2025. So, Austin (Texas) McCallum’s Luke Dunham jumped on the opportunity. The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder committed to the Longhorns today after receiving a preferred walk-on opportunity on Friday.

Dunham held a scholarship offer from Midwestern State, and visited many programs including Houston, Arkansas, SMU, TCU, Texas State, Texas Tech, Arkansas State, UIW, SFA, and UTPB.
But when presented with the chance to play for the Longhorns, it was too good to pass up.
“I was born and raised in Austin by parents who met at UT, so it’s always been my dream to play football here,” Dunham told Inside Texas. “Also seeing what Sark has done for the program and where it’s at I don’t think there’s a better place to be if you want to develop as a quarterback and win a national championship.”
In nine games in 2024, Dunham tallied 3,313 total yards (2,635 passing), and 38 total touchdowns (28 passing), averaging 368 yards per game. He also plays basketball and runs track.

Dunham’s tape is nice. He has good size and athleticism, plus a penchant for making plays. His exploits on the hardwood and track show his versatility and competitiveness. He’ll be behind Arch Manning, Trey Owens, and KJ Lacey.
“I hope to come in and feed the winning culture in the locker room,” said Dunham. “Also I’m going to add depth to a really talented quarterback room and do anything to help us win in the fall.”
