For the second time this year, Ford notched a first-half interception, leading to a Texas score and a fumble recovery that sealed the Horns win. On the K-State final drive in the fourth quarter, he recovered a Wildcat fumble at the Texas 39-yard line to clinch the victory. The Frisco (Lone Star) Texas native had a game-high 10 tackles, six solo, and also forced a fumble.
Against Iowa State, his interception and fumble recovery were part of an 8-tackle performance. It was the first time a Longhorn player intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble in a single game since DeMarvion Overshown accomplished the feat in the 2020 Alamo Bowl.
Ford continues to lead the Big 12 in tackles (82) and has 7.5 tackles for loss in 2022.
The Longhorns have earned four Big 12 weekly honors this season. Ford was previously named the Defensive Player of the Week following the victory over Iowa State, in which he had an interception in the end zone and a fumble recovery to clinch the win.
