Texas Longhorns 2025 NCAA Title Odds: Las Vegas sees a long shot

Think the Texas Longhorns are going to win the 2025 men’s basketball national championship? Las Vegas thinks the odds are extremely long, especially since it has the Horns as an underdog for Wednesday night’s First Four game against Xavier.

According to FanDuel, Texas has +80,000 odds, or 800-to-1 odds, to win the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Georgia has similar odds, while fellow Southeastern Conference teams like Oklahoma and Vanderbilt have slightly shorter odds at +75,000.

No team has longer odds than +100,000 to win the NCAA Tournament.

Duke is the betting favorite to win the national title at +290. The Blue Devils are followed by Florida at +350, Auburn at +550, and Houston at +600.

For the First Four matchup with Xavier, the Musketeers are a 2.5-point favorite and a -156 favorite on the money line. Texas is a +130 underdog on the money line. The over-under is set at 151.5.

The odds for Texas to win the Midwest region are a little bit better than their odds to take home the program’s first national championship. Texas is +10,000, or 100-to-1, to win the Midwest region over teams like Houston, Tennessee, Gonzaga, and Kentucky.

A bet that Texas will reach the Sweet 16 carries +1,360 odds, while bet Texas will fall short of the second weekend is handicapped at -3,000, meaning you’d have to wager $3,000 to win $100 back.

Texas a bet that Texas will make the Elite Eight is +3,800, while betting against the Horns reaching the end of the second weekend is -8,000.

FanDuel also has a hypothetical line for a first round matchup between the Longhorns and the Illini. Illinois is a -6.5 favorite and a -265 favorite on the money line. Texas is a +215 underdog on the money line. The over-under is set at 154.5.

Texas will battle Xavier on Wednesday night at 8:10 p.m. Central in Dayton, Ohio. tru TV will air the contest.
