Texas Longhorns basketball drops to No. 10 in latest AP poll

After splitting two Big 12 games last week, the Texas Longhorns men’s basketball program dropped three spots to No. 10 in the latest AP poll.

Texas lost at Iowa State on Tuesday, 78-67, before traveling to West Virginia. The Longhorns defeated the Mountaineers 69-61 in WVU Coliseum.

On tap this week for Texas is welcoming the Oklahoma State Cowboys to the Moody Center on Tuesday, then a trip to Knoxville, Tenn. on Saturday as part of the Big 12-SEC Challenge to take on the No. 4 Tennessee Volunteers.

Other Big 12 teams in the top 25 include No. 5 Kansas State, No. 9 Kansas, No. 11 TCU, No. 12 Iowa State, and No. 17 Baylor. No Big 12 team was in the receiving votes category.

Teams from Texas’ non-conference schedule in the top 25 include No. 4 Tennessee and No. 14 Gonzaga. Creighton and Illinois were in the receiving votes category.
