Texas Longhorns basketball: Stanford at Texas in Dallas

The No. 7 ranked Texas Longhorns basketball team is back on the court. Texas (8-1) will play host to Stanford (4-6) as part of the Pac-12 U.S. LBM Coast-to-Coast Challenge.

The game will be played in Dallas at the American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Mavericks.

The Longhorns will once again be coached by interim head coach Rodney Terry. Terry coached the Longhorns to an 87-81 overtime win over Rice December 12.

Texas is making its first appearance in the city of Dallas and in American Airlines Center since it won a pair of NCAA First and Second Round games in the 2006 NCAA Tournament. Texas defeated Penn in the Round of 64 and N.C. State in the Round of 32 in 2006.

How to watch the game

Texas (8-1) and Stanford (4-6) tipoff at noon p.m. Central on ESPN2 with Rich Hollenberg (play by play) and Fran Fraschilla (analyst) calling the action.

The game will be played at American Airlines Center (20,874) – Dallas, Texas

Texas leads the series 4-2. The Longhorns won the last meeting 60-53 (Dec. 19, 2021; Las Vegas).

The Rodney Terry File

Rodney Terry enters Saturday with a career record of 164-156. He has been a head coach at the Division I level for ten year prior to joining Chris Beard’s staff in Austin.. Beard has posted a 75-51 conference record in seven seasons. 

Terry built the Fresno State program up in his time in California. The Bulldogs won 20 or more games in four of Terry’s last five seasons. That included three times in post season play. Terry has a 0-1 record in the NCAA Tournament.
