Texas Longhorns commitments shine in season openers
The Texas Longhorns 2023 recruiting class put together a number of impressive performances in season openers Friday night.

Inside Texas’ Justin Wells made the drive from East Texas to New Orleans to watch future Longhorns Arch Manning and Will Randle.
In the Sunshine State, On3 No. 1 ranked running back Cedric Baxter Jr. went over 200 yards to begin the season.
And a pair of Texas wide receiver commits got the season started in impressive fashion, especially On300 4-star Jonah Wilson.

Nations No. 1 running back over 200 yards
On300 No. 1 ranked running back Cedric Baxter Jr. rushed for a self reported 232 yards and touchdown on 22 carries in the Edgewater 22-7 win over Orlando Bishop Moore. The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder also reported he had a touchdown run called back.
Jonah Wilson puts on a show to begin his senior season
On3 Consensus 4-star wide receiver Jonah Wilson displayed some high-end body control, and high-point ball skills in Dekaney’s season opening 32-25 loss to Klein Oak. He finished the first game of the season with nine receptions for 190 yards and two touchdowns.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder also showed some after the catch acceleration and vision on a long catch and run for a score.
Johntay Cook II makes plays in Portland
On3 Consensus 4-star wide receiver Johntay Cook II made his share of plays in DeSoto’s 35-10 win over New Orleans St. Augustine at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore. Teammate and fellow Texas running back commit Tre Wisner ran for a score in the victory.
