Junior left tackle Kelvin Banks had a sensational career, culminating with back-to-back trips to the College Football Playoff semifinals and winning the Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award this season. Now, he’s on his way to the NFL Draft.

His decision comes as no surprise since he’s had the look of a three-year player since he played incredibly well against Alabama’s fearsome Edge duo of Will Anderson and Dallas Turner in his second career start in 2022.

Banks was a cornerstone of Steve Sarkisian‘s first full recruiting class in the 2022 cycle. He not only started his first career game but every game in his career until he missed the start against Georgia in the SEC Championship game. He quickly returned the following week against Clemson in Texas’ playoff win.

Banks is a unanimous All-American and leaves as one of the most decorated players in Longhorn football history.

We’ll have plenty more on the career of perhaps the best Texas offensive lineman of all time.
