The Texas Longhorns staff was busy handing out offers on Monday night to 2024 prospects Colton Heinrich and Carter Nelson plus in-state 2025 Ty Haywood.

Colton Heinrich, TE, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons

Texas and Jeff Banks are tight end hunting in 2024. The Sunshine State native checks the box.

Heinrich notched 36 catches for 464 yards and three touchdowns in 2022. The two-time state champion also plays basketball, and adds a 4.4 GPA.

In addition to the Texas Heinrich holds offers from Auburn, Ole Miss, Missouri, Kentucky, Texas A&M, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Louisville and Michigan State among others.

Ty Haywood, OL, Denton (Texas) Ryan – 2025

Texas has no problem hitting up Denton Ryan for future talent. From Derek Lokey, Alex De La Torre, Ja’Tavion Sanders, Austin Jordan, and Anthony Hill Jr, the Horns have feasted on the Raiders’ program over the years. Haywood is next up.

The 6-foot-6, 265-pounder holds offers from Texas, Mississippi State, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, and SMU.

Carter Nelson, TE, Ainsworth (Neb.)

Texas jumped on the Nelson bandwagon on Monday. It’s getting crowded.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder holds double-digit offers including Baylor, Oklahoma, Penn State, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Auburn, Michigan, Michigan State, Louisville, Alabama, and Ole Miss.

Nelson threw for 663 yards and 15 TDs, tallied 525 receiving yards with 11 scores, and rushed for 761 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also notched 41 tackles and six interceptions.

Nelson is the No. 181 overall prospect and No. 7 tight end in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus. On3 rates Nelson higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Nelson is the No. 109 overall prospect, No. 5 tight end and No. 1 player in Nebraska.
