Texas Longhorns players are excited to face the Aggies
Back in May, Steve Sarkisian was asked at a fundraising event at the Touchdown Club of Houston if his team would be ready to face the Aggies in Kyle Field.

“With that change, what’s coming is renewing the rivalry with A&M and how to get our players that we recruit back into the vigor of that rivalry that I think y’all have enjoyed for decades and decades,” Sarkisian said.
“It’s not hard at all. We’ll be ready.”
Sarkisian had a similar answer on Monday. In fact, he used the exact same “we’ll be ready” from May.
Sarkisian didn’t dive into the details on how he would prepare his team for playing the Aggies at Kyle Field. Some of his talking points were probably hinted at in a few of his answers from his press conference. He talked about houses divided, the attention of the entire state being focused on this game, and even his own recognition of how important this rivalry is dating back to when he was a young quarterback at BYU.
Whatever has been said behind closed doors has his players excited to make the 90 mile trek to College Station this weekend.
RB Jaydon Blue
“I know it’s very intense, that’s one thing. With both of these teams getting a chance to play for the SEC Championship, I can only imagine what the environment will be like and the excitement leading up to Saturday.”
OT Kelvin Banks
“You definitely understand the history the game has had, these two teams coming together. It’s definitely something that gets you excited, gets you intensified, and amped up for the game. We’re basically the first team to renew that sort of game.”
