The Longhorns moved up two spots from No. 4 in the latest release of the AP Top 25 Poll following blowout wins over Northern Arizona and UTRGV last week. Texas also received eight first-place votes.

No. 2 is the highest ranking for the program since the 2010 season.

The Longhorns (3-0) are ranked behind only No. 1 Houston, with Virginia and Arizona holding down the No. 3 and No. 4 spots. The Cougars should hold down the No. 1 spot for the next couple of weeks before tough contests against No. 12 Alabama December 10 and traveling to No. 3 Virginia December 17.

The last time Texas was ranked No. 1 was in the January 18, 2010 poll.
