Texas Longhorns ranked No. 4 in latest AP Top 25 Poll

The Texas Longhorns will take the court tonight in Edinburg, Texas against Northern Arizona as the No. 4 ranked team in the country.

The Longhorns moved up seven spots to No. 4 in the latest release of the AP Top 25 Poll following the convincing 93-74 win over the Gonzaga Bulldogs last week. Texas also received 5 first-place votes.

The Longhorns (3-0) are ranked behind No. 1 North Carolina, No. 2 Houston and No. 2 Kansas in the rankings.

The Texas schedule and the AP Top 25

Texas will face six teams this season ranked in the latest poll, and include nine games. Those are No. 3 Kansas (twice), No. 7 Baylor (twice), No. 10 Creighton, No. 16 Illinois, No. 21 Texas Tech (twice) and No. 22 Tennessee.

There are also teams on the schedule that received votes in the latest release. TCU received the most votes outside the top 25, while West Virginia also received votes.

Texas is currently 1-0 against AP Top 25 teams after beating No. 6 Gonzaga (3-1).

Big 12 in the AP Top 25

The Big 12 conference is represented in the Top 25 poll by four teams. No. 2 Kansas, No. 4 Texas, No. 7 Baylor and No. 21 Texas Tech. The Big 10 has the most representation in the poll with six teams.

The Big 12 ties the ACC for most teams in the top 10 of the poll. The ACC is represented by No. 1 North Carolina, No. 5 Virginia and No. 8 Duke.
