The Longhorns are one of six Southeastern Conference teams in the top 10 and one of 10 in the top 25. The SEC saw one team drop out in Florida, who fell from No. 13 to the unranked masses.

From the SEC, there was No. 1 Tennessee, No. 2 Arkansas, No. 3 Georgia, No. 7 Texas, No. 8 LSU, No. 9 Oklahoma, No. 11 Auburn, No. 12 Alabama, No. 14 Vanderbilt, and No. 15 Ole Miss.

Teams from Texas’ out-of-conference schedule in the top 25 included No. 18 Louisville.

Texas dropped game one on Friday against LSU 8-2, but roared back over the next two days to take the series from the Bayou Bengals. An 11-run explosion in game two followed by a combined pitching masterpiece from Ruger Riojas and Dylan Volantis helped Texas improve in SEC play and retain a hold on first place in the league along with Tennessee, Arkansas, and Georgia.

The Longhorns host Sam Houston on Tuesday before traveling to Columbia, Mo. to face the moribund Missouri Tigers. The Longhorns are 19-3 and 5-1 in SEC play under first-year head coach Jim Schlossnagle.
