Texas moves up to No. 15 in D1Baseball's top 25
The Texas Longhorns moved up one spot to the No. 15 ranking in D1Baseball’s top 25. Texas enjoyed a 4-0 week and jumped ahead of North Carolina, who was 2-2 in the same span.

The Longhorns defeated Houston Christian on Tuesday before sweeping through Cal Poly with three consecutive shutouts. It was the first time since a 2002 sweep of UT-Pan American that the Longhorns held their opponent scoreless across the entire weekend.
Lebarron Johnson earned Big 12 pitcher of the week honors after allowing two hits over 8.0 innings of work on Friday. Peyton Powell was named the conference’s player of the week after hitting .471 with three homers across four games.
The Longhorns were one of three Big 12 teams in the top 25. The TCU Horned Frogs were No. 5 and the Texas Tech Red Raiders were No. 18. The Kansas State Wildcats dropped out from the No. 24 spot after a 2-2 week.

Other teams on the Texas 2024 schedule were included in the top 25. Defending national champion LSU checked in at No. 3 after a 4-1 week. The Vanderbilt Commodores dropped from No. 6 to No. 9.
Texas A&M moved up to No. 7 in the nation after a 4-0 week of their own.
The Southeastern Conference had the most teams ranked in the top 25 with nine. Just behind was the Atlantic Coast Conference with six.
Texas’ battles St. John’s before a high-profile weekend in Houston as part of the Astros Foundation College Classic. The Longhorns will face LSU, Texas State, and Vanderbilt at Minute Maid Park.
