Texas moves up to No. 2 in the penultimate College Football Playoff Rankings

In the final midweek rankings release by the College Football Playoff selection committee, the Texas Longhorns moved up to the No. 2 ranking in the CFP top 25.

Texas also occupied the No. 2 seed in the 12-team playoff bracket.

The Longhorns were joined by a number of SEC teams in the rankings, including No. 19 Missouri, No. 14 South Carolina, No. 13 Ole Miss, No. 11 Alabama, No. 7 Tennessee, and No. 5 Georgia.

The Longhorns will face the Georgia Bulldogs at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. ABC will televise the contest.
