Kyle Flood didn’t have to look too far from home to find an offensive lineman commit. In fact, he looked to a school that has been very kind to the Longhorn football program in recent years.
2022 Austin Westlake OL Connor Robertson committed to Texas, choosing the hometown program over offers from Cal, Duke, Houston, K-State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, TCU, USC, Columbia, Darthmouth, Penn, and Princeton.
Robertson was part of the 2020 UIL 6A Division I state championship team and garnered first-team all-district honors at tackle for the Chaps. He is ranked as the No. 95 player in Texas in the composite.
Ian Boyd on how he fits at Texas:
Robertson is a well-coached lineman who had a fairly substantial role in Westlake’s recent title as the right tackle. He was very solid in pass protection, typically by making good use of his size and reach, but really thrived in their power run game caving in the edges of defenses. His greatest strength is fitting up defensive linemen moving laterally. He’s quick enough to project in a few different schematic concepts playing inside.

He is athletic enough off the ball moving laterally he might make a center in the future. If not, he’ll factor in at guard after a few years of development.
Robertson is the 14th commit in Texas’ 2022 class joining Cole Hutson (Frisco), Jamarion Miller (Tyler Legacy), Will Stone (Austin Regents), Anthony Jones (Liberty – NV), Lance St. Louis (Williams Field – AZ), Zac Swanson (Brophy College Prep – AZ), Kristopher Ross (Galena Park North Shore), BJ Allen (Aledo), Maalik Murphy (Junipero Serra – CA), Trevell Johnson (Arlington Martin), Jaydon Blue (Klein Cain), Armani Winfield (Lewisville), and Jaylon Guilbeau (Port Arthur Memorial).
