Texas nabs commitment from 2026 WR Chris Stewart
Call it the Dia Bell effect? 2026 Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek wide receiver Chris Stewart announced his commitment to Texas on Tuesday evening.

During the 2023 season according to MaxPreps, Stewart had 41 catches for 698 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Stewart is ranked as the No. 330 overall prospect, the No. 51 wide receiver, and the No. 40 player in Texas in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. On3 ranks Stewart as the No. 130 overall prospect, the No. 18 wide receiver, and the No. 17 player in Texas.
Stewart had almost 20 offers, including invitations from Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Boston College, Colorado, Florida, Houston, Michigan, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, TCU, Nebraska, UCF, Texas A&M, USC, Utah, and UTSA.

During the 2024 track season, Stewart ran personal bests in the 100m (11.1), 200m (24.82), and was part of the Shark 4×100 and 4×200 relay. Stewart measures in at 6-foot-0, 175 pounds.
