Texas' O-line named to the Joe Moore Award Midseason Honor Roll
No. 1 Texas had its offensive line named to the Joe Moore Award Midseason Honor Roll alongside 21 other offensive line units. The award recognizes the best offensive line in college football every year, and Texas’ undefeated offensive line has been one of the names to watch on the award trail.

The award’s specific criteria is toughness, effort, teamwork, consistency, technique, and finishing. Evaluations for the Midseason Honor Roll were made exclusively through weekly review of actual game film, including offensive line coach-provided cut-ups, per the award.
Texas’ offensive line returned four starters this offseason and has been one of the keys to the elite start to the year, where the Longhorns have yet to trail in a game. Left tackle Kelvin Banks, center Jake Majors and right tackle Cam Williams have all won SEC offensive lineman of the week awards, and the trio of DJ Campbell, Hayden Conner and Cole Hutson have a combined 63 starts under their belt as Texas enters its fourth Red River Shootout under head coach Steve Sarkisian this weekend.
If offensive lines could have signature wins, Kyle Flood‘s crew would have arguably the best in the nation. In a game where the Longhorns had to travel to Ann Arbor to play the defending national champions in the biggest stadium in college football, Texas allowed zero sacks and aided the Longhorns to over 4.5 yards per carry. Michigan’s defensive front features a duo of Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant, two players expected to be picked inside the top 15 picks in the NFL Draft. For context, Michigan registered four sacks and two turnovers in a win against USC, their highest-ranked opponent outside of Texas this year.

The Longhorns starting five has been healthy, reliable and at points dominant throughout the year, and is likely the front runner for this prestigious accolade, one that seemed so distant from the first team Sarkisian trotted out in 2021.

Texas will face another fantastic defensive line this week and the next, as the clash of the trenches in the Red River Shootout could be the decider in a heated matchup, and a week later Georgia heads to Austin in a potential top-five matchup.
