Texas offers yet another prospect from a NFL family... this time a kicker
The Texas Longhorns are doing their best to find as many recruits that come from families with NFL ties. The obvious name is Arch Manning, the son of Cooper, nephew of Peyton and Eli, and grandson of Archie. There’s also Santana Wilson, the son of former All-Pro defensive back Adrian Wilson, and Lance St. Louis, whose father Brad was a long snapper in the NFL for 10 seasons.

Steve Sarkisian and Jeff Banks are looking to add yet another player with NFL pedigree, and the player they are after is from the specialists ranks. 2026 Tampa (Fla.) Cambridge Christian kicker Gaston Gramatica, the son of former NFL kicker Martin Gramatica, received an offer from the Longhorns on Tuesday.
Banks was recently in Florida and able to watch Gramatica kick.
According to MaxPreps, Gramatica was 23-for-23 on point after attempts and 13-for-19 fon field goals with a long of 55 during the 2024 season. He also had 42 kickoffs with 17 touchbacks.
Gramatica handled punting duties for Cambridge Christian, with 34 punts with 11 inside the 20. He averaged 37.1 yards per kick.

Gramatica’s brother, Nico, is a sophomore kicker at South Florida.
Martin Gramatica was originally born in Argentina but kicked for Kansas State. He won the Lou Groza Award in 1997 and was also a consensus All-American that season. He was drafted in the third round of the 1999 draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and kicked with them for six seasons, including during their Super Bowl run in 2002. He also played for the Colts, Patriots, Cowboys, and Saints.
The Longhorns are set to see both their kickers graduate following the 2025 season. Bert Auburn, who was the Longhorns’ place-kicker all the way up until the College Football Playoff semifinal, is slated to return as a redshirt senior. Will Stone, who took Auburn’s place for the game against Ohio State and handled kickoff duties during the 2023 and 2024 campaigns, is set to be a senior. In addition to these two, Texas has walk-ons Spencer Barnett and Charlie Feris slated to return for 2024.
Texas did not add a scholarship kicker in the 2025 class.
