On a Sunday livestream edition of On Texas Football, 2024 Humble (Texas) Atascocita offensive lineman Nate Kibble explained why he chose the Longhorns over Texas A&M and a host of others and committed to Steve Sarkisian’s program during his official visit.

Kibble explained the process and the eye-opening aspect of the visit that made him comfortable committing.

“First, why I committed, being down there and being around the guys, everybody fits what I’m about,” Kibble said. “They work hard. They do everything right. You can tell everybody has the same goal up there.”

It was a bit of a spur of the moment decision for Kibble, but he was able to make the big step with family around him.

“To be honest, I woke up Sunday and I told my mom this is it,” Kibble said. “I don’t have to go anywhere else. I feel really good here. Once we had our meeting with Coach Sark, it was me, my stepdad, my little brother, and my mom in there. We were just talking, and I just let them know ‘coach, I don’t have to go anywhere else. This is where I want to be at.'”

He originally thought he might wait until the season. So why did he move up his decision date?

“The reason for the timeline move-up is because I’ve never been recruited before, so I started to realize you can’t wait forever,” Kibble said. “If you feel good about something, you need to jump on that opportunity. I felt good about this so I did it.”

Kibble is excited to work with Longhorns offensive line coach Kyle Flood, his future position coach.

“Coach Flood, he seems like he has a plan for me,” Kibble said. “All I have to do is come in there and work, and if put the work in I’m going to get to where I need to be. I just know that I can work and I know if he gets me in the right spot, the sky’s the limit.”

The On3 Industry Ranking three-star explained what his next step is and what his strengths are.

“Getting stronger and faster, being on a college level,” Kibble said. “Everybody’s stronger, everybody’s faster. I think some of my strengths would be my football IQ. I understand the game really well and I try to study as much as I can. If I’m not playing, I’m watching football and I’m always doing something around football.”

The culture around Texas also stood out.

“Everybody is on the same goal,” Kibble said. “Everybody knows they have to go and work, day in and day out, every single day to get better. They know that, especially going into the SEC with the competition level going up, they’ve got to work harder now than ever. I love how they work up there. I love how everybody’s set on working.”

Kibble was hosted by true freshman O-lineman Andre Cojoe. The experience was a great one.

“We did a lot,” Kibble said. “Friday we came in and had a pretty busy schedule but it wasn’t too bad. We got the photoshoot done Friday, and we ate twice. One thing on the official visits you’re going to do is you’re going to eat. You’re going to eat until you can’t eat no more. Saturday is always kind of the jam-packed day. A lot of stuff all day basically, but it’s always fun. We went to TopGolf, we just had fun the whole time. Sunday was the last day winding down. We had a good breakfast and then just talking, having meetings with coaches, and things like that.”

Kibble is ranked as the No. 486 overall prospect, the No. 35 interior offensive lineman, and the No. 82 prospect in Texas in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.
