Texas ranked No. 20 in penultimate College Football Playoff rankings
The College Football Playoff selection committee released its penultimate set of top 25 rankings on Tuesday before the slate of conference championship games this weekend. The College Football Playoff selection show will be aired this Sunday to determine the top four and who will compete for the national championship.

Though Texas is not in contention for the Big 12 title nor the CFP championship, they were again included in the CFP’s top 25. The November 29 edition of the rankings labeled Texas as the No. 20 team in the country.

Fellow Big 12 members TCU and Kansas State were also included in the top 25. The Horned Frogs were ranked No. 3 while the Wildcats were ranked No. 10.
The Longhorns were the No. 24 team in the rankings released Week 9 and No. 23 in the Week 12 rankings. Texas was left out of the Week 10 and Week 11 rankings.
On Sunday, Texas was ranked as the No. 21 team in both the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll.
Texas awaits their bowl matchup, which is likely to be announced on Sunday.
