Texas ranked No. 19 in D1Baseball's preseason poll
The Texas Longhorns will begin the Jim Schlossnagle era ranked within the top 25 of the preeminent college baseball poll.

Texas was ranked No. 19 in D1Baseball’s preseason top 25 and was one of nine SEC teams to be ranked before the start of the 2025 season.
Texas A&M was the top-ranked team in the preseason poll. Other SEC teams to make the ranking included No. 3 LSU, No. 4 Tennessee, No. 5 Arkansas, No. 8 Georgia, No. 10 Florida, No. 16 Vanderbilt, and No. 18 Mississippi State.
Mississippi State, LSU, Georgia, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Florida are on the Longhorns’ schedule this season.

The only other non-SEC team on Texas’ schedule to crack the top 25 was No. 17 Oklahoma State.
Schlossnagle is entering his first season as head coach of the Longhorns. In 23 seasons as a head coach, Schlossnagle is 946-455. He was most recently the head coach of Texas A&M, where he led the Aggies to the Men’s College World Series Championship Series in 2024 before losing to Tennessee.
In College Station, Schlossnagle was 135-62 in three seasons. He ventured to Aggieland after 18 years as head coach of TCU. With the Horned Frogs, Schlossnagle made five College World Series appearances, seven Super Regional appearances, and 15 NCAA tournament appearances. He won 12 regular season conference titles and nine conference tournament titles.
Prior to TCU, Schlossnagle was 77-47 in two years at UNLV.
The Longhorns open the season on February 14 versus Louisville as part of the Shriners Children’s College Showdown in Arlington, Texas.
