Texas ranked No. 19 in AP Poll

The Texas Longhorns were ranked No. 19 in the latest release of the AP Top 25 Poll for the 2023-24 season.

Texas (2-0) won the season opener over Incarnate Word 88-56 and followed up with a 86-59 win over Delaware State. The

Four Big 12 teams were included in the top 25. Kansas is at the top at No. 1, Houston is ranked No. 7, Baylor No. 15, and Texas No. 19.

Several teams on Texas’ schedule were also included in the most recent poll. Texas plays at No. 1 Kansas in Big 12 play. The Longhorns will take on No. 6 Houston and No. 15 Baylor twice in conference play. And Texas will take on No. 4 Marquette coached by Shaka Smart December 6 in Milwaukee.

Other teams from the state of Texas in the poll include No. 13 Texas A&M.

The Longhorns finished No. 5 in the final Ap Poll for the 2022-23 season.

The Longhorns return to the court on Wednesday, November 15. Texas will play host to the Rice Owls. The Owls are 1-1 on the season. Rice defeated St. Thomas (Texas) 101-57, and lost 89-76 to Harvard University.
