Texas ranked No. 2 in the most recent AP poll, highest ranking since 2009

The Texas Longhorns were ranked No. 2 and received four first-place votes in the most recent AP Poll after defeating the Michigan Wolverines 31-12 in Ann Arbor on Saturday.

The Longhorns leap-frogged Ohio State to earn its highest ranking in the AP Poll since 2009.

Michigan fell from No. 10 to No. 17 in the poll.

SEC teams to make the top 25 included No. 1 Georgia, No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 6 Missouri, No. 7 Tennessee, No. 15 Oklahoma, and No. 16 LSU. Other teams on Texas’ schedule to receive votes included Texas A&M.
