The Longhorns finished last season ranked No. 3, the highest finish since a No. 2 ending in 2009.

Texas is one of nine SEC teams in the top 25 along with top-ranked Georgia, No. 5 Alabama, No. 6 Ole Miss, No. 11 Missouri, No. 13 LSU, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 16 Oklahoma, and No. 20 Texas A&M.

Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M are on the Longhorns’ schedule.

The only other preseason top-25 team on Texas’ 2024 slate is Michigan, who checked in at No. 9.

UTSA and Kentucky were in the receiving votes category.

This is the 57th time in program history the Longhorns have been ranked in the preseason top 25, which has released a preseason ranking every year since 1950.
