Texas remains No. 7 in the CFP rankings ahead of the Big 12 Championship

The Texas Longhorns remained the No. 7 team in the College Football Playoff rankings, no change from last week and one spot behind the No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ohio State dropped from No. 2 to No. 6 after its loss to Michigan.

Georgia remained No. 1 while Michigan moved up to No. 2., Washington moved up to No. 3, Florida State moved up to No. 4, and Oregon moved up to No. 5.

Big 12 teams who remained in the top 25 include No. 12 Oklahoma, No. 18 Oklahoma State, and No. 25 Kansas State. The lone team from Texas’ non-conference schedule in the rankings was No. 8 Alabama, giving the Longhorns three wins over teams in the penultimate top 25.

The Longhorns will face the Oklahoma State Cowboys this Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Big 12 Championship game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. ABC will broadcast the game.

Other teams playing in conference championship games include Georgia, Michigan, Washington, Florida State, Oregon, Alabama, Louisville, and Iowa. This was the last set of rankings released by the CFP selection committee before the field of four is revealed on Sunday. ESPN is scheduled to reveal the final rankings.
